Victoria A. White, owner of The Internet Connection discusses Virtual Commerce to US Manufacturers
NASHUA, NH - There is no question that the recent increase in US manufacturing is a direct result of efficient use of new technologies. This year at the `97 Software Exposition & Conference for Manufacturers, Victoria A. White, Owner of The Internet Connection of Northampton was asked to discuss virtual commerce - an inevitable technological trend that should, if it hasn't already, sweep today's industries. Virtual commerce can include such applications as Internet commerce, marketing, networking, and demographic and product research.
"Manufacturers realize that they need to stay informed of the latest in information technology to keep on top of competitors," said Ms. White, who spent the day at the Expo with more than 400 business representatives. "But it is also important for manufacturers and corporations to also stay informed and identify useful technological strategies to reach and be competitive on a local and world wide scale".
Virtual commerce is definitely a hot technological topic. Companies all over the world are exploring how they can best use the world wide web for product sales. One way is through interactive web design. By steering away from pages that resemble print advertising many companies feel that their pages should include the option of credit card transactions over the Internet through the use of forms or transaction companies.
Ms. White notes that technology is not the only reason for the increase of US manufacturing but she feels by adding a strategic technological plan with low cost production and quality products equals a great solution for success for any size company.
Ms. White predicts that 92% of all businesses will be on-line by 2001.
