Configuring Windows XP
- Go to Start, and select Control Panel.
- Click on Network or Internet Connection.
- Click on Setup Or Change Your Internet Connection.
- Click on the Add button (brings up the new connection wizard)
- Select Dial-up to a Private Network (connect using my phone line, modem or ISDN)
- Click Next
- Put in one of our 56K access numbers including the area code, then press Next.
- Type in eclecTechs for the name of this connection.
- Press Finish
- The eclecTechs Settings dialog box should now open.
- Enter your username (make sure it is your full e-mail address. ex: username@valinet.com, username@westmass.com or username@noho.com).
- Enter your password.
- Do not put anything in the domain section.
- Press OK. You will be brought back to the Internet Properties dialog box.
- Put a check next to Dial whenever a network connection is not present.
- Press Apply
- Press OK.
- Your dial-up connection is all set, you will now need to setup your e-mail.
- Go to e-mail setup.
- Once you have setup your e-mail, you can connect by double clicking on Internet Explorer, or Netscape.
